Set in the 2nd district of Paris, rue Montmartre, Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie is the Parisians’ favourite address to eat foie gras, duck and specialities coming from the south west of France.

Established in Paris since 1894, this French gastronomic institution is both a restaurant and a delicatessen. You can purchase all the goodness of French gastronomy here: fine wines from all other France-Bordeaux, Bourgogne, etc- Champagne, French Vodka but also Foie Gras, Confit duck, caviar, smoked salmon, different kinds of pates, cheeses… 🙂

With a large terrasse overlooking the busy rue Montmartre, Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie is very famous among tourists too. You can spot many people coming from Japan, China, Korea and all the part of the world looking for the best plate of food in Paris! 🙂

At the restaurant, you can enjoy the Classics-pan seared foie gras, foie gras raviolis, roasted duck breasts, cassoulet, gourmande salad, smoked salmon, escargots (snails) and also a seasonal menu changing according to the season. All the dishes are to die for and are made from fresh ingredients. It is impossible not to like any of them 🙂

If you have a sweet tooth, then you can also enjoy one of theirs delicious desserts such as the warm chocolate pudding served with ice cream, the chocolate Millefeuille or the Eclair with strawberries and rhubarb…Yummy! 🙂

Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie never disappoints whenever you are going for lunch or dinner, you will always find something very tasty to eat and enjoy! It is good to know that the restaurant can be very busy on week-ends and even on some week nights, so avoid being disappointed and prefer to book a table! If it is sunny, ask for a table on the terrasse and enjoy the view on rue de Montmartre ?
