Jardin des Tuileries

A sumptuous garden in the core of Paris

The numerous gardens in Paris deserve a whole article with praises but we are going to pick up the most compelling ones. The Jardin des Tuileries requires your whole attention for it is one of the oldest garden in Paris. As you know the older it is, the more cachet it has. Indeed the artistic legacy still lingers on. The garden is surrounded by the Palais du Louvre (a museum), a majestic 16th century’s building and the famous Rue Rivoli (a street). The 25 hectares are welcoming families, friends, couples, or lovers;)

During spring or summer, one can see children enjoying to make their little sailboats float nearby the fountains with parents sitting on the green chairs keeping an eye on them. We can see young lovers hiding behind the perfectly trimmed bushes.

Even if you are coming alone you can sit on a chair admiring the statutes by Rodin or the flowers. All you need is a book between your hand hearing the natural melody offered by the birds hovering or the wind moving between the trees in the long paths.

And to say that long ago the park was reserved for the upper class society, now everybody is welcome and to emphasize the welcoming spirit, you have refreshment bar such as le Café Diane. With 300 seats , you have the choice between lasagnes, sandwiches, hot dogs…

In a word the most iconic garden in Paris still casts its spell on the curious onlookers:)

If you don’t want to pay the restaurant you can bring your snack .Enjoy the two museum nearby (Musée de l’Orangerie, and Musée du Louvre).

You have numerous shops at Rue Rivoli
